CONVERSION
The Mercedes-Benz Sprinter from model year 2006 onwards with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive is specially converted by us for very difficult off-road driving. In this case we recommend to start with a conversion to larger off-road tires, whereby the real ground clearance (measurement of the distance from the ground to the lowest point of the vehicle; usually the rear differential housing) is increased between 15 and 30 mm depending on the tire size. . However, if you are actually often driving on loose surfaces such as sand, snow and wet meadows, we recommend retrofitting a 100% lockable mechanical differential lock from our company. This is a differential lock for the rear axle developed by us and works on a rear-wheel drive as well as on a factory all-wheel drive Sprinter. In the latter case, however, it is recommended to switch off the four-wheel drive to achieve the 100% effect. Otherwise, due to the Daimler 4×4 system’s non-lockable transfer case, the power on the front axle can dissipate if one wheel in front loses contact with the ground. You can find useful accessories like underbody protection, snorkel or spare wheel holder in our shop.
